About the Ride
The Rockstacker Challenge Mountain Bike Race is a mountain biking event presented by the Permian Basin Bicycle Association in Odessa, Texas. The event features multiple race categories for experienced riders, recreational cyclists, and younger participants, along with a trail running option.
The main mountain bike races use the blue trail loop, with distances determined by the number of laps completed. Cat 1 riders complete three laps for a total of 27 miles, Cat 2 riders complete two laps for 18 miles, and Cat 3 riders complete one lap for 9 miles.
Youth riders can participate in either the Youth Advanced category, which covers one 9-mile blue loop, or the Youth Beginner category, which follows a 3.5-mile green loop. The event also includes a 5K trail run for participants looking for an off-road running challenge.
Blue Trail Loop (Cat 1, 2, 3 & Youth Adv.)
The signature 9-mile blue loop delivers dynamic terrain with rock gardens and flow sections. Cat 1 riders conquer 3 laps (27M), Cat 2 completes 2 laps (18M), and Cat 3 / Youth Advanced tackle a single 9-mile lap.
Green Trail Loop & 5K Trail Run
Younger beginners can build confidence on the dedicated 3.5-mile green loop. For trail runners and multi-sport athletes, the 3:00 PM 5K provides a rugged, scenic off-road running test.
