The Ride to Remember is a deeply meaningful cycling event hosted by the Dallas Police Cycling team. This ride offers a unique opportunity to explore the City of Dallas while participating in a highly organized unity style peloton. The 89 mile route is designed as a tribute, with participants riding one mile for every Dallas Police Officer who has been killed in the line of duty. Because of the special nature of this event, the group stays together for the entire duration, visiting various police substations along the way to pay respects.
This is not a traditional open road ride and is strictly not for beginner cyclists. Participants ride two by two in a tight formation, fully escorted by the Dallas Police motorcycle unit. This high level of coordination requires riders to be comfortable with group dynamics and capable of maintaining a steady pace over a long distance. It is an unforgettable experience that combines the thrill of a police escorted tour with the somber honor of remembering fallen heroes.
Ride Distances
The Ride to Remember features a single, unified distance that all participants complete together:
89 Miles: A symbolic route covering the City of Dallas, honoring the 89 fallen officers of the Dallas Police Department.
Support and Logistics
Riders can expect unparalleled support as they are guided through the city by a professional motorcycle escort. The ride format is strict to ensure the safety of the peloton and the escorting officers. Mandatory safety meetings take place before the 7:00 AM start time, and participants are required to follow the lead cyclists at all times. Rest stops are strategically located at police substations every 15 to 20 miles, providing hydration and a moment for reflection. The event concludes with a meal and refreshments for all riders and volunteers at the Dallas Police Association.

Online registration is available through the official BikeReg portal. Due to the logistical requirements of a police escort, registration is limited and often reaches capacity quickly. Please note that recumbent bicycles and entertainment devices like headphones are prohibited for safety reasons.
