About the ride:
This self-directed, Memorial Weekend bicycle ride (virtual) honors the 182 Texas service members who died participating in Operation Enduring Freedom, the U.S. military response to 9-11. We offer distances from 5-62 miles. Bicycles, unicycles, skateboards, stationary bikes, or other self-powered rolling means are welcomed. Participants will receive an event bib, a biography of one of the local service members who died participating in OEF, and a certificate of participation if you provide your time and distance. The back of the event shirt has the names of the 182 TX service members, along with their hometowns. Any profits from the event go to the Greater Dallas Veterans Foundation hosted Greater Dallas Veterans Day Parade. GDVF is a charity.
