About the Ride:
The Barrow Volksride is an annual cycling event held on the third Saturday of October in Salado, Texas. This family-friendly ride benefits the dedicated men and women of the Salado Volunteer Fire Department (SVFD), helping support their important service to the community.
Cyclists can choose from three route options: 16 miles, 32 miles, or a challenging 100K route through the scenic Central Texas Hill Country. Starting and finishing at Barrow Brewing Company, the routes travel through beautiful countryside roads connecting communities such as Holland and Belton.
The event is fully supported until 1:30 PM, with ride support available throughout the course. Riders who have not completed their route by that time will be directed to a shortened route. Members of the Salado Volunteer Fire Department and local Sheriff’s Office will assist at key intersections to help ensure rider safety.
All participants are required to wear their registration bib numbers and helmets at all times during the ride.
This is a family-friendly ride that combines scenic Central Texas routes, strong community support, and the opportunity to help fund the Salado Volunteer Fire Department.
