Prepare for a challenging and scenic journey through the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Doss Gravel is an unpaved odyssey that takes cyclists through the rugged, beautiful terrain just west of Fredericksburg. As contractors for this event, we are proud to highlight that your participation supports the Doss Community Center and the Doss Volunteer Fire Department, providing vital resources to this historic rural enclave.

The ride coincides with Fredericksburg’s iconic Oktoberfest season, making it the perfect centerpiece for a full weekend of Hill Country celebration. Expect well-planned routes featuring low-traffic gravel roads, creek crossings, and the rolling vistas that make this region a global cycling destination. While the spirit is adventurous, the event is professional, offering full mechanical and SAG support to ensure every rider has a safe and fantastic experience.

Ride Distances & Navigation

Doss Gravel offers three distinct challenges. Please Note: Routes are NOT marked. All participants must download the Ride with GPS (RWGPS) files to a bike computer or smartphone prior to the start.

105 Miles: The ultimate gravel endurance test for seasoned “grinders.”
60 Miles: A rigorous intermediate loop showcasing the best of the Doss area.
34 Miles: An accessible introduction to Hill Country gravel.
Navigation Tool: Participants receive access to premium RWGPS features (voice cues and offline maps) for free by using a starter account.

Support and Logistics

Though the terrain is wild, the support is comprehensive:

Rest Stops: Fully stocked stations with hydration and nutrition are placed at strategic intervals.
SAG Support: Support and Gear vehicles monitor the course for safety and mechanical assistance.
Packet Pickup: Friday, September 11, from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Lost Draw (206 S Lincoln St, Fredericksburg).
Check-In: Saturday morning check-in begins at 7:00 AM at the Doss community site.
