A Worldwide Movement to Honor and Protect Cyclists
Date: Wednesday, May 20, 2026
Location: Anna May Daulton Elementary, 2604 Coastline Dr, Grand Prairie, TX 75054
Event Information
May is National Bike Month, and the City of Grand Prairie joins a global community in hosting the Ride of Silence. As contractors for this event, we are proud to support this solemn and powerful advocacy ride. The Ride of Silence is an annual, worldwide event held to honor cyclists who have been injured or killed while riding on public roadways.
Unlike traditional cycling rallies, this event is held in complete silence. Participants use only hand signals to communicate, creating a moving tribute that raises awareness for cyclist safety and the “Share the Road” campaign. Whether you are riding in memory of a loved one or to advocate for safer streets, your presence helps make the invisible visible to the motoring public.
Ride Details & Solidarity
The Grand Prairie route is designed to be accessible and safe for the entire community:
- Distance: Approximately 9 miles (8.7 to 9.5 mile variations).
- Route: A family-friendly loop through the beautiful communities of Grand Peninsula and Mira Lagos.
- Pace: Slow and respectful; the group stays together to maintain a presence on the road.
- Solidarity Symbols: * Black Armbands: Please wear a black armband to show solidarity for lost cyclists.
