Conquer the Coast

Experience the Ultimate Tour of the Texas Coastal Bend

Date: Saturday, September 19, 2026

Location: Whataburger Field, 734 E Port Ave, Corpus Christi, TX 78401

Event Information

The United Corpus Christi Chamber Foundation invites you to participate in Conquer the Coast, an annual cycling tradition that has captivated riders since 2004. As contractors for this event, we are proud to highlight its dual mission: providing a world-class cycling experience while supporting local scholarships and community initiatives like Bikes to Kids and TAMUCC Islander Athletics.

Conquer the Coast is renowned for its diverse scenery, taking riders from the urban heart of Corpus Christi across massive bridges and through pristine coastal communities. The 2026 ride marks the second year participants will cross the NEW Harbor Bridge, offering unparalleled bird’s-eye views of the Corpus Christi Ship Channel, the USS Lexington, and the Texas State Aquarium.

Ride Distances & Routes

Catering to all skill levels, Conquer the Coast offers three distinct route options:

  • 69-Mile Ride: The ultimate coastal challenge. This route loops around the entire bay, passing through Portland, Ingleside, Aransas Pass, and Port Aransas. After a ferry crossing, riders tackle the “Toughest 18 Miles in Texas” against the Mustang Island winds before finishing along scenic Ocean Drive.
  • 21-Mile Ride: Designed for intermediate riders, this scenic out-and-back route follows the entire length of Ocean Drive, passing Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and the gates of Naval Air Station Corpus Christi.
  • 10-Mile Family Ride: A leisurely, flat ride down Ocean Drive. It is perfect for families and novices who want to enjoy the sea breeze and views of the bay’s most beautiful homes.

Support and Logistics

We prioritize a safe and fully supported ride for every participant:

  • Course Support: Extensive SAG (Support and Gear) vehicles and mechanical assistance are available.
  • Rest Stops: Well-stocked stations featuring hydration, snacks, and “Island Hospitality” are placed at regular intervals.
  • Safety: Helmets are mandatory. The 69-mile route includes exclusive access through Naval Air Station Corpus Christi (wristbands required).
  • Post-Ride Celebration: Return to Whataburger Field for a festive finish line experience with food, music, and community spirit.
