The 18th Annual Riverside Ride continues its long-standing legacy in Victoria, Texas, now under the dedicated stewardship of The De Leon Club. This premier cycling event offers participants a unique journey through the historical and natural landmarks of Victoria and Goliad Counties. Whether you are a competitive cyclist or a recreational rider, the Riverside Ride provides a high-quality experience centered on community, heritage, and the scenic beauty of the Guadalupe River valley.
As contractors for this event, we are proud to highlight that the ride supports local community initiatives while maintaining the high standards of safety and support that participants have come to expect. Riders will explore beautiful Riverside Park and the historic architecture of Downtown Victoria. For those seeking a greater challenge, the longer routes offer a climb to the top of the Coleto Reservoir Dam and a passage through the “rolling hills” near the historic ruins of Mission Espiritu Santo.
Ride Distances
The event features five distinct routes tailored for every skill level:
- 60 Miles: The premier long-distance route featuring the Coleto Reservoir Dam and river bottom hills.
- 50 Miles: A rigorous endurance test through the historic Guadalupe River river bottom.
- 40 Miles: A substantial intermediate route covering the local historic areas.
- 30 Miles: A moderate distance perfect for recreational enthusiasts.
- 20 Miles: A scenic, shorter loop ideal for novices and families.
Support and Logistics
The De Leon Club ensures all participants are fully supported from start to finish:
- SAG Support: Every route is fully monitored by Support and Gear vehicles for mechanical aid and safety.
- Refreshment Stops: Dedicated stops are stocked with water, snacks, and hydration. Port-o-lets are available at every other stop.
- Lunch & Celebration: Registration includes a post-ride lunch. Traditionally, beer is available for riders 21 and older to enjoy while listening to local entertainment.
- KIDZFest: Families can enjoy the concurrent KIDZFest, featuring interactive booths, massive inflatables, and activities from the YMCA and Discovery Children’s Museum.
Event Schedule
- Friday Pre-Registration: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Citizens Healthplex (9406 Zac Lentz Pkwy).
- Saturday Check-In: 7:00 AM – 7:45 AM at Riverside Stadium.
- Ride Start: 8:00 AM (Mass start).
- Course Close: Official support typically concludes at 2:00 PM.
