Paluxy Pedal

Scenic Hill Country Riding in the Dinosaur Capital of Texas

Date: Saturday, October 3, 2026

Location: Glen Rose Auditorium, 900 Stadium Dr, Glen Rose, TX 76043

Event Information

The Paluxy Pedal is a beloved annual tradition that takes cyclists through the breathtaking backroads and challenging hills of Glen Rose. Known for its scenic vistas and community-first atmosphere, this ride is more than just a tour; it is the primary fundraiser for the LDL Educational Resource Foundation. As contractors for this event, we are proud to highlight that every registration helps fund educational, health, and environmental projects within Somervell County, supporting everything from local school programs to health fairs.

Riders can expect a professionally supported course that showcases the best of the northern Texas Hill Country. From gentle rolling roads to the infamous “Wall”—a grueling climb with a 19% grade—the Paluxy Pedal offers a rewarding experience for novices and seasoned hill-climbers alike. Those brave enough to conquer The Wall are even rewarded with a special commemorative patch to mark their achievement.

Ride Distances

The 2026 event offers multiple routes to ensure every cyclist finds their perfect challenge:

  • 60 Miles: The premier endurance route featuring significant elevation and a trip over “The Wall.”
  • 53 Miles: A challenging intermediate ride that also includes the climb up The Wall.
  • 39 Miles: A moderate distance perfect for those wanting hills without the extreme grade.
  • 29 Miles: A scenic, shorter loop ideal for recreational riders.
  • Gravel Options: New for 2026, the event features 35 and 52-mile gravel routes for off-road enthusiasts.

Support and Logistics

The organizers prioritize safety and rider comfort with extensive course support:

  • Rest Stops: There are six well-stocked rest stops along the various courses, providing hydration, snacks, and facilities.
  • Course Support: SAG (Support and Gear) vehicles constantly monitor the routes to provide mechanical assistance or transport if needed.
