La Primavera at Lago Vista

The 34th Annual Premier Road Race Weekend in Central Texas

Dates: Friday, February 27 – Sunday, March 1, 2026

Location: 1925 American Dr, Lago Vista, TX 78645

Event Information

La Primavera at Lago Vista is a legendary fixture in the Texas racing calendar, returning for its 34th annual edition. This high-stakes road race weekend is known for its technical 5.5-mile loop and competitive fields, attracting top cyclists from across the region. Unlike standard rallies, La Primavera is a sanctioned USAC event where strategy, lap-by-lap endurance, and technical handling are paramount.

The event features a unique “Omnium” format, where riders compete over two days of racing to crown an overall category champion. Whether racing clockwise on Saturday or counter-clockwise on Sunday, the 5.5-mile circuit provides a rigorous test of fitness against the backdrop of the scenic North Shore of Lake Travis. With categories ranging from professional tiers to the free Kids Fun Ride, it remains one of the most prestigious multi-day races in the state.

Race Details & Course

The race centers on a challenging 5.5-mile loop with specific directional changes for each day of competition:

  • Saturday: 5.5-mile loop run in a clockwise direction.
  • Sunday: 5.5-mile loop run in a counter-clockwise direction.
  • The Finish: The final 400 meters of the finish stretch remain open and consistent for both days of racing.

Omnium Scoring and Prizes

Riders competing for the overall title must participate on both days to earn Omnium points:

  • Point System: Points are awarded in reverse order of the prize placings for each category.
  • Tie-Breakers: In the event of a points tie, Sunday’s results (Day 2) serve as the deciding factor.
  • Jerseys: Race winner’s jerseys are awarded to the top omnium finishers on Sunday.
