The Circles on a Mission Bicycle Ride offers cyclists a unique opportunity to explore the peaceful roads of Beauregard Parish while contributing to a vital cause. This charity event raises funds for the Methodist Children’s Home of Southwest Louisiana (SWLA), a residential facility that provides comprehensive therapeutic services for children facing significant emotional and behavioral challenges. Ride and Walk Distances
Circles on a Mission provides a variety of route options to accommodate all ages and fitness levels:
- 60 and 50 Mile Routes: Challenging distances for endurance riders looking to see more of the Louisiana countryside.
- 30 and 20 Mile Routes: Intermediate options perfect for recreational cyclists.
- 8 Mile Route: A short, family-friendly loop for casual riders.
- 1 Mile Guided Walking Tour: For those who prefer to stay on foot, this tour explores Historic Downtown DeRidder, featuring landmarks like the “Hanging Jail” and the first USO in the United States.
Support and Logistics
The event is well-organized with a focus on rider safety and comfort:
- Support & Gear: Support vehicles (SAG) will be active on the course, and rest stops are stocked with plenty of snacks and hydration.
- Finish Line Meal: All participants are treated to a hearty, home-cooked meal upon crossing the finish line.
- Safety Requirement: Properly fitting helmets are mandatory for all cyclists.
- Pre-Ride Meeting: A mandatory briefing is held at 7:45 AM to discuss course conditions and safety protocols.
