Event Information

Gran Fondo Texas is widely recognized as the premier cycling event in the Houston area and serves as a vital recommended ride for those preparing for the Texas MS 150. Operating under the tax exempt status of the Texas Medical Center Orchestra, this event is entirely volunteer run, ensuring that net proceeds directly benefit the Montgomery County Food Bank, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and the Texas Medical Center Orchestra. Since its inception, the ride has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for these essential community organizations.

The event offers a high quality cycling experience through the scenic, rolling landscapes of Montgomery County. With a focus on safety and athlete support, the ride features a mass start and a festive post ride atmosphere. Because this event operates as a non profit fundraiser, all registration fees are non refundable and are considered a donation if a rider is unable to attend. Participants are encouraged to carpool to the start line to help manage the parking capacity at the high school.

Ride Distances

Gran Fondo Texas provides several route options designed to challenge cyclists of all abilities, from recreational riders to elite endurance athletes:

96 and 89 Miles: The premier long distance routes, perfect for those seeking a full century experience or intense training for the upcoming MS 150.
68 Miles: A challenging intermediate distance that captures the best of the local terrain.
46 and 32 Miles: Shorter, accessible routes designed for casual participants and those looking for a spirited morning ride.

Support and Logistics

The ride is fully supported with stocked rest stops, mechanical assistance, and motorcycle marshals to ensure a safe environment. Participants who wish to wear the official 2026 jersey must place their orders by February 28, 2026, for event day pickup. Any orders placed after this date will be part of a post event production run.

Safety remains a priority for all ages. Minor riders under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times during the event. Furthermore, a parent or guardian must sign a hard copy waiver at packet pick up, as electronic signatures are not accepted for minors.

Registration for Gran Fondo Texas 2026 is open until 8:00 PM on April 11, 2026. Please note that there is no on site registration available on the morning of the event.
