Event Information

The Positive Cycology Ride returns for its 4th annual event in May, perfectly timed to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month and National Bike Month. This community-focused ride is a crucial fundraiser for The Art Room, a local Denton non-profit dedicated to supporting adults with mental health challenges.

This is more than just a bike ride; it is a celebration of the therapeutic power of both physical activity and creative expression. After the ride, all participants are invited to a vibrant celebration at East Side Denton, featuring food trucks (at your own expense), drinks, exciting raffle prizes, and fundraising awards.

Event Cause: The Art Room

The Art Room provides a safe and supportive studio environment for adults with mental health challenges to explore art at no cost. It fosters creativity as a therapeutic tool for reducing stress, promoting self-discovery, and encouraging emotional expression. By participating, you are directly helping to encourage healing and recovery through expressive art experiences.

Route Options and Schedule

The event offers three routes to accommodate every skill and experience level, all starting and ending at East Side Denton. The fee for individual registration is $40 for all routes.

50 Miles

Focus: Designed for seasoned cyclists (Minimum 14 MPH average speed recommended).
Check-in: 7:00 AM – 7:50 AM
Start Time: 8:00 AM

27 Miles

Focus: Perfect for experienced riders (Minimum 10 MPH average speed recommended).
Check-in: 8:00 AM – 8:50 AM
Start Time: 9:00 AM

8 Miles

Focus: Family-friendly leisure ride (Goes through downtown to Denia Park).
Check-in: 9:00 AM – 9:50 AM
Start Time: 10:00 AM
Youth Policy: Children 8-12 ride free but must be experienced at riding on streets, registered, and accompanied by an adult (aged 21+) who will supervise no more than three children and ride next to the child for the entire route. Minors aged 13-17 pay the entry fee.

Support and Aid Stations

Support and Aid Stations will be provided on the routes until 12:00 PM:

8 Mile Route: Aid station near Mile 5 at Denia Park.
27 & 50 Mile Routes: Aid station intersection of C Wolfe Road and Jim Christal Road (approx. Mile 7 and 22 on the 27M route, and Mile 18.5 and 34 on the 50M route).
SAG (Support and Gear) support will be provided by a support team and sweep vehicles.

Registration

Registration includes event entry, on-course support, and post-ride access to the celebration at East Side Denton.
