Event Information

Join us for the 35th Annual Henry Roberts Memorial Jalapeno 100 Bike Ride, a beloved South Texas cycling event. This ride attracts all skill levels, from beginners enjoying a short tour to seasoned athletes training for century rides, and is proudly known for having some of the best rest stops in Texas.

The Jalapeno 100 is not a race; it is a bicycle tour of the Rio Grande Valley. Participants will enjoy a challenging yet scenic ride through the area, giving you the chance to face the South Texas winds and earn bragging rights!

Event Cause: All proceeds from the ride are dedicated to the Boys and Girls Club of Harlingen, Texas, helping to fund essential educational and recreational programs for local children after school and during the summer months.

Route Options

The event features a distance for every cyclist, including a challenging Century Ride and a unique off-road option:

  • 100 Mile Ride (Century): A challenging loop from Harlingen north to Raymondville, east to Port Mansfield, and back via scenic country roads. A minimum average speed of 13 MPH is enforced, and the course closes at 4:00 PM.
  • 66.7 Mile Ride (Metric Century)
  • 62.5 Mile Ride (Metric Century – Alternate) (Based on prior events, check official maps for final route)
  • 50 Mile Ride
  • 50 Mile Gravelpeno (Dedicated gravel route)
  • 25 Mile Ride
  • 12 Mile Ride

Rider Amenities & Support

Participants are treated to exceptional support before, during, and after the ride:

  • Rest Stops: Located approximately every 10 miles, these stops are fully equipped with cold water, fruit, snacks, and home-made goodies, plus a port-a-pottie.
  • SWAG: All cyclists receive an event t-shirt, a registration bag, and a participation medal.
  • Lunch: A complimentary post-ride lunch will be provided for all registrants by Chick-Fil-A of Harlingen.
  • Opening Ceremony: The event features an inspiring opening ceremony, often including the Marine Military Academy Band performing the National Anthem and a Presentation of Colors.
