Event: Spirit Ride 2013
Route Distance: 23, 33, 42 Miles and 100k
About the Ride: Polk County wants bicyclists from everywhere to come enjoy the forested hills and valleys of Polk County. This is the first annual “spirit ride”, a chance to not only enjoy the gorgeous scenery of East Texas, but to also enjoy the riches of a small East Texas community where people from many different backgrounds have lived for generations. In particular, it is the home of the Alabama Coushatta Native American tribe and the home of beautiful Lake Livingston.
The Ride Supports Polk County’s Various Child-Based Organizations
Proceeds from this event will go toward Polk County’s Crimestoppers; Polk County’s Child Advocacy Center, Childrenz Haven; Polk County’s Domestic Violence Center, Saafehouse; and Polk County’s CASA organizations, all of which are dedicated to ending child abuse.
