Event: Holiday Ramble II
Route Distances: 64 Miles
About the Ride: The Holiday Ramble is a metric century(ish) gravel grinder starting at 10 am near Gainesville, TX.
The route is a full on gravel grinder featuring a unique combination of dirt roads and desolate country roads that promises to be both scenic and challenging. Riders will be able to enjoy a fantastic route that starts and ends in the “civilized” area outside of Gainesville in Oak Ridge, TX while meandering through some scenic rural areas which venture northwards towards the Red River.
The route can be run on a road bike (with fat rubber), or a mountain bike but riders shooting for the “win” will most likely utilize CX bikes. If you choose to take a road bike on the course please bring extra tubes because there are potholes and some rough sections of dirt road.
This marked course ride will provide aid/support stations but we will not providing sag support. Plan to bring enough food and supplies to be self supported in case of break down since it might take several hours for a sweep vehicle to reach stranded riders.
Additional details including maps/cue sheets will be available on www.Spinistry.com
All roads whether paved or unpaved are public roads subject to the regulations of the great State of Texas. Participants are required to obey all “rules of the road” and laws for the applicable jurisdiction(s) in which they operate their bicycles and/or other vehicles. This applies to both the featured event as well as any practice or warm up events. The Holiday Ramble II is an all weather event unless conditions are deemed unsafe for riders so there is a no refunds policy.
Organizers will NOT be providing any sag vehicles or support during the route. You are welcome to have your own support vehicles out on the course if you are not comfortable participating in a self supported metric century.Staging area will be the parking lot of Fireworks World.
