The Tour de RACHA (Ride Against Child Abuse) returns for its 17th annual edition as the signature fundraising event for Family Ties, Family Resource Services. This ride is more than just a cycling challenge; it is a community-driven effort to “Provide Hope Through Healing” for child victims and families in crisis across Waller, Austin, and Harris Counties. Every registration fee directly supports free therapy, 24-hour crisis intervention, and advocacy services for those navigating traumatic experiences.
As contractors for this event, we are proud to support a rally that has spent nearly two decades transforming lives. Cyclists can expect a well-organized day featuring the quiet, scenic backroads of Waller. The atmosphere is one of solidarity and purpose, bringing together hundreds of riders to advocate for a future free from child abuse.
Ride Distances
The Tour de RACHA offers three route options on mostly flat terrain with a few rolling hills, suitable for various fitness levels:
- 62 Miles (Metric Century): A full endurance challenge through the countryside for experienced riders.
- 48 Miles: A solid intermediate distance for those looking for a substantial morning ride.
- 26 Miles: A shorter, accessible route perfect for casual riders and community supporters.
Support and Logistics
Riders are fully supported by a dedicated team of volunteers and local professionals:
- Rest Stops: Strategically placed every 10 to 12 miles, offering a variety of snacks, hydration, and enthusiastic support.
- Safety: The course features SAG (Support and Gear) vehicles for mechanical assistance and police presence at key intersections to manage traffic.
- Post-Ride: The event concludes at the Family Ties office, where participants can celebrate their achievement and learn more about the impact of their contribution.
Ride Day Schedule
- 6:00 AM: Check-in, on-site registration, and packet pick-up opens.
- 7:30 AM: Mass start for all distances.
