A Meaningful Charity Ride through the Country Roads of Wallis, Texas
Date: Saturday, November 7, 2026
Location: Wallis Columbus Hall, 703 Columbus Rd, Wallis, TX 77485
Event Information
Pedaling for the Veterans is an inspiring cycling event now entering its third year of operation. Located just west of Houston in Wallis, Texas, this ride is dedicated to supporting the families of our nation’s veterans and first responders. The primary beneficiary of the event is the Tunnel to Towers Foundation (T2T), an organization founded after the events of September 11, 2001, to provide mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children.
The ride is organized by the same experienced team behind Ready2Roll Cycling, known as the premier training series for the ACC Bike Texas MS-150. This ensures a professionally managed, well-supported experience on the road. Participants can expect a peaceful ride through flat country roads with very little traffic, making it an ideal environment for cyclists of all experience levels to contribute to a worthy cause.
Ride Distances
Pedaling for the Veterans offers five distinct route options to accommodate a wide range of athletic abilities and training goals:
- 74 Miles: The longest route for endurance-focused cyclists looking for a full morning in the saddle.
- 58 Miles: A challenging intermediate distance perfect for steady training.
- 45 Miles: A mid-range route designed for those seeking a balance of distance and speed.
- 30 Miles: A moderate distance accessible to most recreational riders.
- 11 Miles: A short, flat route that is ideal for families and casual participants.
Support and Logistics
One of the most unique aspects of this ride is the volunteer staff. Many of the rest stops are hosted and managed by veterans, providing participants with the opportunity to meet and talk with the very people the event seeks to honor. The route is highly supported with hydration and snacks at every stop.
Following the ride, participants can enjoy a post-ride social atmosphere at the Wallis Columbus Hall. A full lunch is available after the event for an additional fee, providing a great way to relax and celebrate with fellow riders and volunteers.
Registration
Online registration is hosted via the Ready2Roll Cycling platform. Veterans are highly encouraged to participate in this event. Because this is a fundraiser for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, early registration helps the organizers maximize their donation impact.
