First off, let’s give a warm welcome to the 52 new subscribers and celebrate another edition of the WheelBrothers newsletter that covers all the bike rides in our great State of Texas.
Last weekend, we conquered the Peach Pedal bicycle ride in Weatherford. Thank you to the event organizers that despite some challenging conditions with road closures and whatnot, pushed through, putting together such a fantastic ride and allowing all of us to have a blast!
We also want to express our gratitude to the two incredible guys from the Sippin Saturday team who gave the Godfather a much-needed boost (If anyone sees those guys, buy ’em a beer for me, will ya? ). And of course, thank you to everyone who chatted with us and gave us those awesome shout-outs. You rock! Quick shout out to the WheelBrother who battled through some tough times and limped into the finish line but still managed to cross the finish line ahead of J. You, my friend, are an inspiration!
Now, let’s shift gears and talk about our upcoming event—the highly anticipated Blazin Saddles 75 bike ride in Granbury, Texas, on August 5th. We’ve been burning the midnight oil to finalize all the logistics, and trust us when we say it’s going to be epic! Just today the legend that is Bikin Mike met with Hood County Emergency Team which includes everyone from Granbury PD, Texas EMS (who benefits from our ride), Hood County Sherriff office, etc. (I’m sorry if I’m omitting anyone’s attendance).
Here’s the deal: while we want each and every one of you to experience the thrill of riding this incredible event, we’re also in need of some amazing volunteers to make it happen. And guess what? We’ve got an irresistible offer for you.
Picture this—a FREE ride registration for the Blazin’ Saddle 75, in exchange for your valuable time and effort as a volunteer. Sounds like a sweet deal, doesn’t it?
Here are the qualifying positions we’re looking to fill:
Registration/Packet Pick-up – Choose one shift at any of the three convenient locations.
Set Up Team – Help us set up the start/finish site on Friday evening. Be a part of the magic!
Take Down Team – Assist us in taking down and cleaning up the start/finish site on Saturday afternoon. Let’s wrap up the event in style!
Get exclusive Behind-the-Scenes Access! Volunteers get a unique opportunity to witness the inner workings of a large-scale event. From interacting with event organizers to collaborating with fellow volunteers, discover the camaraderie that comes with being part of something extraordinary.
Not only will you receive a complimentary ride registration, but we’ll also throw in a cool t-shirt as a token of our appreciation. It’s a win-win situation, folks!
So, if you’re ready to ride, ready to volunteer, or ready to do both (because, why not?), register on the BlazinSaddles75 website with your preferred position and shift time. Register here
Let’s make the Blazin Saddles 75 ride an unforgettable experience together.
Besides this, we have some epic rides for the rest of this month. From the Tour de Paris with its legendary rest stops (they have cookies and cake what must be every 3-4 miles or so), MS150 Cactus and Crude, Katy Flatland, Goatneck, and the beloved 40th annual edition of the Buffalo Gap. Go check those rides out!
Remember, it’s not just about the miles we conquer—it’s the camaraderie, the shared passion, and the joy of cycling that truly sets us apart.
Pedal on and we love you!
