We were lucky enough to be granted an interview with Paul Sutherland to ask some questions about their upcoming ride.
This is an awesome ride. The routes are excellent and if you’re planning on rding in the Hotter N Hell this is one of the only rides close by with a 100 mile route.
How long has the event been around?
This is our 5th year.
What was the motivation behind starting the tour and who benefits from it?
I used to go ride in other 100 mile rides to try an prepare for the Hotter N Hell 100 and just felt that southwest Oklahoma need one. The first 3 years was CASA (Court Appointed Special Advactes) for abused and neglected children and last year and this year it is Southwest Youth Services in Altus.
How have they been able to utilize the funds in the past?
It helps support their programs with all the cut backs in grants etc.
Can we get a TCX or GPX file included for download? Over 63% of folks say they are more up to attend a ride for which they have information about the routes for their on-bike devices.
The routes on our our web site: http://www.diamondback100.com/

Yes maps are available at registration desk.

We have an elderly man who has ridden 3 out of 4 rides with us who was 83 on our first ride and will be 87 if he rides this tear. We have been blessed by only minor road rash.
What can folks do to support you and your mission?
Come out and ride. Volunteer and I’m thankful for iur sponsors. If it wasn’t for our faithful sponsors and volunteers there would not be a ride.
What is your role in this race and to the success of it?
I start in January working the logistics for the next ride. I rode and planned all the routes to make them enjoyable for the riders.
Do you ride and if yes, what kind of bicycle do you ride and what is your favorite route in your area? Which are your top 3 favorite MUST DO rides in Texas (besides your own)?
