This year’s Wild Pig Pedal is scheduled for June 11, 2022. In memory of James Standlee, who served as the chair for this ride and coordinated a lot of the details each year, the Chamber of Commerce is now hosting this ride in his honor.
Registration will begin at 6:00 AM the morning of the event. We would love to have the entire community, along with riders who have travelled here to ride each year with James, attend this event and celebrate his love for riding.
The ride will begin at Whiteside Museum of Natural History this year and will travel along the routes that he had established.
There are five rest stops including the family friendly 6 mi, plus the endurance runs of 22-mile, and 45-mile.
There will be a SAG wagon available to assist or pick up riders if needed.
Activities will be available during and after the race for the bike riders, their families, and the entire community.
Visitors are encouraged to stop in the Whiteside Museum of Natural History to see their current exhibits. There is also a Sound Garden located next to City Hall and the City Hall Cinema will be showing movies that night as well!
Please join us to help celebrate the life of James Standlee who loved this event and helped organize it every year. Lunch is waiting their return; with our signature pulled pork BBQ, potato salad, and a huge pot of beans! Freezers of homemade ice cream keep participants coming back each year.
Bring your bike and ride!! Or stand on the sideline and root for your favorite participants at the Chamber’s annual Wild Pig Pedal.
