About the Ride:
Welcome to the 2024 Texas State Time Trial Championships
SouthWest Cycling Club, Geriatric Elite Masters Racing, Violet Crown Cycling, and The Racing Post are working together to bring the State Time Trial Championships back to Hempstead.
Our goal is to provide timed racing opportunities for all ages, abilities, and styles of bikes, to promote road biking, and to continue the long tradition of time trialing in Waller County. We want to thank the Waller County Library, Hempstead ISD, Hempstead PD, The City of Hempstead, and Waller County Sheriff’s Department for their help and support for this event. Proceeds from the race will benefit these organizations.
LOCATION AND COURSE
Hempstead, Texas is 50 miles west of Houston, 170 miles east of San Antonio, 110 miles east of Austin, and 200 miles south of Dallas. We will run the traditional out-and-back course on Highway 1887. The course is very flat, with just over 200 vertical feet of climbing over the 40K course, and typically has a southeast breeze. The start and finish lines are on1887/11th Street, just south of the Waller County Library at 23311th St. Race headquarters is in the parking lot on the west side of the library (no racer parking here). Racer parking is at Hempstead Middle School, 2532 9th Street, with overflow parking at Hempstead High School.
