With Brave Wings 5K & Bike Rally for Myranda

Join us for a celebration of strength and inspiration as we pull together and show our dear friend Myranda Williams just how loved she is! As Myranda journeys on her road to recovery after a life-changing cycling accident, let’s rally around her as a community and lift her up in healing.

EVENTS WILL INCLUDE:

• 2K OR 3K KIDS BIKE RALLY ON SCHOOL GROUNDS

On June 10th, Myranda and her step-brother were on training cycling ride in Monahans, Texas when she was struck from behind by a car.  Myranda sustained life threatening injuries fro the crash.  Spending almost a week in a medical induced coma she underwent multiple surgeries to save her arms, repair one of her kidney’s and clear the severe wounds on her legs. Had Myranda not been wearing her helmet and camel pak for hydration that morning, she would not have made it.  We are so thankful for the doctors, surgeons and medical staff at Medical City Odessa for taking exemplary care of her. To her family that has not left her side, this race is as much for you as it is Myranda.  As she begins her road to recovery, we hope you all will join us to inspire her and keep her motivated as she climbs this hill to healing.

Myranda is a 5th grade teacher at the Aubrey Middle School and is loved by so many.  The outpouring of support from the community has been outstanding!  It is our hope that we can raise enough money to support her through this journey so all she has to consume herself with is healing.

Just a few things to remember: 

Location:  Aubrey High School ~  510 Spring Hill Rd ~ Aubrey, Texas

Registration Cost: 

1K Kids Run/Walk (ages 4 – 9) – $15

5K Run/Walk (ages 10 & up) – $30

1K VIRTUAL Run/Walk (ages 4 – 9) – $15

5K VIRTUAL Run/Walk (ages 10 & up) – $30

2K or 3K Kids Bike Rally (ages 4 – 9) – $15

10, 20 or 30 Mile Bike Rally (ages 10 & up) -$45

10, 20 or 30 Mile VIRTUAL Bike Rally (ages 10 & up) -$45

5K & 10, 20 or 30 Mile Bike Rally (ages 10 & up) -$65

1K, 5K & Kids Bike Rally Routes:  these events will ALL be held on the Aubrey HS grounds.  Routes will be posted soon.

10, 20 & 30 Mile Bike Rally Routes & Support:  bike route will be a 10 mile loop through the rolling hills of NTX.  Once we have the approved route available, we will post it.

There will be SAG vehicles along the route as well as Bike Medics available for assistance.  At the end of the 10 mile loop we will have an aid station with water and snacks as well as any aid you may need for any additional loops. We will also have support from the local police department for the safety of all our riders.  Remember, NO HELMET – NO RIDE. This is NON-Negotiable.

Race Schedule:

• Check in: begins at 6am
• 1K Begins:  promptly at 7:00 am
  • 5K – approx. 7:15am
  • 2K/3K Bike Rally – approx. 8:15am
  • 10, 20 & 30 Mile Bike Rally – approx. 8:45am
• Awards:  Run – approx. 9am & Bike Rally – approx. 12pm
• Event Wrap Up:  1:00pm

Packet Pick Up:

• Race Day Packet Pick Up available beginning at 6am 

CARNIVAL:  Each school will be represented at the event with 2 – 3 different carnval type events.  Anything from face painting, corn hole, dunk tanks, bake sales, cake decorating to food trucks and photo booths!  If you aren’t participating in the events you can still hang out and enjoy the festivities.  Tickets will be available to purchase for each booth.  Cash and Credit Cards will be accepted for tickets.

Parking: is FREE – arrive in plenty of time to allow for walking time to check in.

Race SWAG:  free fruit, snacks and drinks at finish,  race medal, t-shirt, free finisher pictures, music, CARNIVAL, race bag Full of vendor goodies!

What to bring:  ID, CC, Cash, HELMET, fastest runnin shoes and a BIG SMILE!
